New PR Column Starts in Ohio Legal Dailies
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — “In Re: Public Relations,” a new column about public relations, started Tuesday in the daily legal journals here, in Akron and Ravenna.
Written by Dan Pecchia, an Ohio public relations consultant and president of Pecchia Communications in Youngstown, the column provides guidance to help lawyers advise their clients on PR matters.
It will run on the first Tuesday of the month in the Daily Legal News in Youngstown, as well as the daily Akron Legal News and Portage County Legal News.
The first column (CLICK HERE) is titled, “Don’t advise clients to tell media ‘no comment.’ ”
“Lawyers are often in a good position to make sure their clients get the right public relations counsel when they need it,” Pecchia said.
“Many of the critical situations that drive business owners to their lawyers are golden opportunities to communicate effectively. This column will aim to help lawyers capitalize on these important moments and add value to their client relationships.”
Pecchia has operated Pecchia Communications since November 2005 and had previously served in management roles at two public relations and advertising firms, Ira Thomas Associates (now Marcus Thomas) and Innis Maggiore Group. Previously, he was business editor at The Vindicator, and prior to that business editor at the Tribune Chronicle.
Since 2006, one of Pecchia Comm’s primary clients has been Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, the Mahoning Valley’s largest law firm.
