New Vehicle Sales Trend Upward Among Valley Customers
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties during October easily outpaced those of a year ago, according to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association’s monthly report.
The report shows that 2,317 new vehicles were sold to Mahoning Valley customers last month, compared with 1,856 in 2022 – an increase of nearly 25%.
October’s sales were also stronger than the previous month, records show. In September, local buyers purchased a total of 2,203 new vehicles.
Toyota of Boardman registered the most new vehicle sales for the month with 151, the report shows. Boardman Subaru reported it sold 137 new units; #1 Cochran Chevrolet said it sold 135; Greenwood Chevrolet sold 119; and Fred Martin Ford rounded out the top five with 96 new car and truck sales.
Used vehicle sales dropped slightly during the month compared with last year, data show.
Mahoning Valley customers purchased a total of 1,923 used cars and trucks in October, compared with 2,000 purchased during the same month in 2022 – a decline of 3.85%, the report shows.
