Geneva Lodge Will Present a Vintner’s Dinner
GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio – The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake will present a special Vintner’s Dinner on Saturday, April 6, as the lodge celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The dinner will feature wines from Ferrante Winery, with Ferrante owner and winemaker Nick Ferrante guiding guests on a wine pairing experience beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will include a welcome wine with hors d’oeuvre, followed by a four-course dinner with wine pairings.
“The lodge is the biggest tourism draw in the county and has meant a lot for the area’s wine industry,” said Ferrante, whose presentation will include insights about the Grand River Valley, home to the area’s wine industry.
The price of the Vintner’s Dinner (without an overnight stay) is $89 plus tax, per person. Guests must be at least 21 years old to book. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 440 466 7100, ext. 0.
Here is the itinerary and menu for the dinner:
- Wine Welcome: An asparagus risotto arancini hors d’oeuvre and Lodge Star Seeker Moscato.
- First Course: Pink Peppercorn and thyme crusted Cod, lemon beurre Blanc, shaved asparagus, olive oil, poached tomato. Paired with Chardonnay 2021 Signature Series (70% tank fermentation, 30% barrel fermentation).
- Second Course: Rose of Pinot Noir, Rose compressed watermelon, wild arugula, feta cheese, candied pistachios, golden pea shoots, blood oranges. Paired with Pinot Noir Rose (refreshing dry rose).
- Third Course: Bison Sirloin steak with wild mushroom, pickled ramps, gnocchi, sweet peas, Brown Horseradish butter. Paired with Eclipse Red (off dry, commemorative label for 4-8-2024: Eclipse).
- Fourth Course: Warm Strawberry rhubarb crisp/ice wine cream. Paired with Ice Wine Strawberry Spritzer (cocktail made with Vidal Blanc Ice Wine).
