Choffin Career & Technical Center to Celebrate 50 Years

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Choffin Career & Technical Center is marking 50 years in career and technical education and will commemorate the milestone with an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the career center, which currently consists of 15 career and technical education programs for high school students housed within five specialized academies: Academy of the Arts, Academy of the Skilled Trades, YOUMed Academy, Public Safety Academy and the Academy of Business & Entrepreneurship.

Choffin also has three adult education programs: Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology.

“No RSVP is needed – just drop by anytime from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,” said Jennifer Damico, assistant director of Choffin. “We extend a warm invitation to all alumni, stakeholders and members of the community to visit the career center and enjoy light refreshments while sharing memories from the past 50 years.”

Choffin is located at 200 E. Wood St.
