Sponsors, Exhibitors Sought for Kids STEAM Event in Salem

SALEM, Ohio – Getting children interested in pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math can make a difference in their future, and each year the Kids STEAM University at Kent State Salem encourages students to explore topics and careers in the field.

Kids STEAM University, a collaboration of the Columbiana County Educational Service Center, the ESC’s Business Advisory Council and Kent State University’s Columbiana County branches, is seeking exhibitors and sponsors for this year’s event, which will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Kent State University at Salem.

The event allows companies, businesses, clubs and agencies to help promote a love of STEAM careers to local children.

By providing an engaging, hands-on activity for students, displaying a piece of equipment from a STEAM-related business or providing information about that business, exhibitors can help provide an experience for potential future employees.

In 2023, 172 preschool through fifth grade students from schools in Columbiana and Mahoning counties registered for the event.
