Financial Wellness Night a Home Run for Credit Union, Scrappers

NILES, Ohio – Financial Wellness Night at the Ballpark was a hit with baseball fans. 

717 Credit Union announced Friday that the event held during the Mahoning Valley Scrappers’ game against the State College Spikes on Thursday drew 7,869 fans, the largest crowd in Eastwood Field’s history.

Fans were treated to complimentary tickets to the game, free food and drinks and a fireworks display. Several people received $100 gift cards and a grand prize of $717.  

Free 717 baseball stress balls were given out, and the credit union’s Dollar Dog entertained children and adults in attendance.

“We want to thank the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, local leaders, partners and the entire community for helping to make 717 Financial Wellness Night at the Ballpark such a memorable night,” said John Demmler, 717 Credit Union CEO and president. “This event gave us a real chance to thank the community for banking on the success of 717 for 67 years, and we want the community to know we are banking on them now and in the future.”

The Scrappers defeated the Spikes, 16-8.
