State Arts Grants Include $107K for Butler Art Museum

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Twenty-five arts organizations in the Mahoning Valley will receive grants from the Ohio Arts Council under its latest round of funding.

The largest grant, $107,551, was awarded to The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown to support its ongoing work.

The OAC board announced today that it approved $22,704,702 in grants to support Ohio artists, nonprofits, arts and cultural organizations, students and educators and public arts programming. It is the largest single round of grant awards distributed to OAC funding applicants in the agency’s history.

The 935 grants approved this week constitute the initial and major state fiscal year 2025 funding round for the OAC. The money will be used by the recipients for operations, specific projects, education and other purposes.

The grants stem from the state’s 2024-2025 operating budget, which included a record-high state appropriation of nearly $51.1 million for the OAC over the two-year period.

The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports the arts.
