Mercy Health Walk-in Clinic Opens in Canfield

CANFIELD, Ohio – Mercy Health recently opened its 10th walk-in care location, giving local families access to care without waiting for an appointment or making a trip to the emergency room or urgent care.

“When you start to feel sick, the last thing you want to do is wait several days to be seen by a doctor. Walk-in care is a convenient option that gives patients with non-emergent illnesses the opportunity to be seen by a primary care provider without an appointment on the same day,” said said Dr. Jim Kravec, chief clinical officer of Mercy Health Youngstown

“We’re excited to open our 10th walk-in care site and increase access to this type of care for the people of the Mahoning Valley,” he said. “Walk-in care is similar to urgent care in that you don’t need an appointment, but there’s an added benefit: Your appointment is treated just like a primary care physician office visit. In many cases, that means a patient gets the same accessibility of urgent care at a more affordable cost.”

Mercy Health walk-in locations offer care for common health conditions including colds, flu, fever, sore throat, sinus infections, ear and eye infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, urinary tract infections, mild abdominal pain, cellulitis, headaches, dizziness, minor abrasions, lacerations, minor burns, minor sprains and strains, rashes, poison ivy and sunburn.

Canfield’s Talsman Walk-In Care, 61 Talsman Drive, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The new location joins Mercy Health’s other walk-in locations in Austintown, Columbiana, East Palestine, Howland, Liberty, North Lima, Salem, Sebring and Youngstown.
