Subaru, Dealership Make Donations to Akron Children’s
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Boardman Subaru and Subaru of America Inc. this morning presented a check for $25,877 to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley as part of the automaker’s “Share the Love” campaign.
Boardman Subaru will also donate an additional $5,000 to Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley, the company said.
Rob Fellman, president of Boardman Subaru, presented the check today during a press event at the dealership.
Between Nov. 20, 2014 and Jan 2, 2015, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru vehicle could select from a list of charities to receive a donation of $250 from Subaru of America. This year, the company will donate $15 million to participating charities.
Subaru of America selected four national charities: the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals On Wheels Association of America, and National Park Foundation.
Local Subaru retailers were able to add a local charity to the list and Boardman Subaru selected Akron Children’s Hospital as the beneficiary.
Over the last seven years Subaru of America has donated $50 million to a number of worthy causes through its Share the Love event. Customers who selected the Hometown Charity option helped raise $8 million nationwide for local causes.
