Western Reserve Knitting Guild Celebrates Milestone
CANFIELD, Ohio – The Western Reserve Knitting Guild celebrated a milestone July 9.
The guild, which was the first group to register with The Knitting Guild Association, marked 40 years since founder Marlyn Ibele held its first meeting.
The purpose of the guild is to “provide education and communication to advance the quality of workmanship and creativity of [members’] knitting endeavors,” a news release states.
The guild, which has 50 members and is growing, welcomes all knitters, from beginners to advanced. Members are involved in the local community through the guild’s knitting programs, such as knitting hats for school-age children and making items for those with memory disorders.
At its July meeting, the guild installed new officers: Kathy Geren, president; Susi Ripple, vice president; Dolores Scott, secretary; and Dianna Pericco, treasurer.
The Guild meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Rotary Building at Fair Park,
318 Oak St. For more information, email [email protected].
