Volunteer Center Provides More Space for United Way
BOARDMAN, Ohio – United Way volunteers, staff, board members and donors gathered Thursday for the ribbon-cutting of the Centofanti Volunteer Resource Center at 8133 Market St.
Bob Hannon, president of the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, says the United Way’s headquarters in downtown Youngstown doesn’t have enough space for a lot of volunteers or storage.
“We were trying to do it downtown and we were turning office space into a warehouse – we had pods in the parking lot,” Hannon says. “We’ll be more efficient. We’ll have more space. I think we can help more people. It’ll be easier on our volunteer base as well.”
