Mercer County Food Bank to Host Stuff the Bus Event
HERMITAGE, Pa. – The Mercer County Food Bank is inviting the community to help Stuff the Bus with nonperishable food items to assist those in need.
The food bank’s retrofitted school bus will be parked at Giant Eagle, 2365 E State St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The most needed food items include canned proteins, vegetables, fruits, peanut butter, cereal and pasta.
“September is Hunger Action Month,” said Rebecca Page,” executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “All donations collected during the event will help stock the shelves for the winter months, the food bank’s busiest time.”
