Top Hat to Present ‘Book of Liz’ Dinner-Theater Show

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Top Hat Productions will present six performances of its dinner-theater production of “The Book of Liz” on Oct. 4-6 and 11-13 at its theater at 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road.

Tickets are $36.50 (plus tax and fees) and can be purchased at TopHatProductions.org.

The play, written by Amy Sedaris and David Sedaris, centers on Sister Elizabeth Donderstock, a member of the Squeamish (think Amish) religious community. Her job is making delicious cheeseballs, but when her position is given to a less experienced man, Liz abandons the Squeamish for a secular world she’s never experienced.

Regina Reynolds is directing the play. The cast includes Becky McConnell, Edward Bonilla, Connie Leathers, Antonio Bonilla, Reneé Cuerden and Monica Beasley.

A full dinner will be served at the table before the show, which will include an entrée, vegetables, salad, bread and cheese balls. Entrée can be selected when purchasing tickets.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m., and the show will follow.
