Leah Merritt is the President & CEO of YWCA Mahoning Valley, an organization with a mission to eliminate racism and empower women. Having served in multiple roles at the YWCA since 1994, Leah was promoted to CEO 2012.
Leah holds a B.S. and Master of Health and Human Services from Youngstown State University. She also has a Certificate from Northwestern/Kellogg Allstate Foundation Non-Profit Leadership Center for Leading with Equity in the Nonprofit Sector.
Leah currently is president of Warren Kiwanis. She chairs the Ohio Council of YWCAs, and the Trumbull County Housing Collaborative. She also belongs to the Social Justice League and League of Women Voters Greater Youngstown (LWVGY).
Leah’s multiple awards and honors include YBPW Woman of the Year; WYTV Hometown Hero; YSU Penguin Woman on the Move; Youngstown Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award; and LWVGY’s Hall of Fame.
