Scary Tales Tours at The Hoyt

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Tales of ghosts, witches, werewolves and vampires from Pennsylvania folklore will be told at the annual Scary Tales tours at Arts & Education at the Hoyt on Oct. 24-26.

Folklore is often rooted in real characters and encounters but embellished through the retelling over time. Where each tall tale’s truth begins and ends, no one can really say.

The Pennsylvania stories narrated by the Hoyt’s tour guides will recount the supernatural origin of the Millvale ghost at St. Nicholas Croatian Church, the Vampire Crypt in Erie Cemetery, the haunting of Congelier’s Hall, the Witch of the Monongahela and the werewolves still prowling the rivers of the Shenango Valley.

Tours are led through the dark by flashlight on the half hour at 6:30, 7, 7:30, 8, 8:30 and 9 p.m. each night.

Due to the popularity of the event, reservations are required. Click HERE. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The tour is not considered ADA friendly. While all ages are welcome, children may become disturbed by the content. Tickets are nonrefundable.
