Jewish Community Relations Council to Host Resource Fair
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will host a Mitzvah Day event, Project Connect 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane.
The resource fair will be held in cooperation with Mercy Health and Bang! Hair Studio.
The resource fair will feature:
- Community health information.
- Prescription assistance.
- Nutrition information.
- Haircuts by Bang! Hair Studio.
- Hispanic health.
- Health screening registration.
- Blood pressure screenings.
- Blood sugar and cholesterol check.
- Carbon monoxide screening.
- Behavioral and mental health information.
- Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center.
- ManUp tobacco treatment information.
- Internal medicine residency.
- Ask the Doc.
Mitzvah Day brings people together to make positive change in their communities, a news release states. A Mitzvah is a commandment in Jewish law. However, it is often used to mean a good deed or an act of kindness, which is an integral part of Jewish life and is the basis for Mitzvah Day.
