Cody Jinks to Play Youngstown Amphitheater in September
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Cody Jinks will bring his Hippies & Cowboys tour to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The country singer-songwriter will perform songs from his upcoming album, “Cody Jinks Sings Lefty Frizzell,” a tribute to the late honky-tonk legend. The album will be released Friday, Dec. 6, and will include covers of many Frizzell favorites, including “If You’ve Got the Money I’ve Got the Time.”
Opening the Youngstown show will be Tanner Usrey.
Fans can expect the same kind of big tent, inclusive environment for which Jinks is known for.
“It’s a really divided time in our nation,” Jinks said in a press release. “But we’ve always been the type of band where we’ve wanted everybody. And so next year, it’s going to be a statement of, ‘Man, we’re just an American band.’ That’s what we are. We’re a honky-tonk band. We’re American music. You have country, rock, rhythm and blues, all in one. We’re hippies; we’re cowboys – and we’re everything in between.”
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Jinks cut his teeth in bars and honky tonks, where he learned to disrupt the status quo with a do-it-yourself approach. He has released 10 full-length albums to date.
Tickets range from $129.50 to $31.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Ticketmaster.com and the box office at Covelli Centre. An online-only presale will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday; use the password “outlaw.”
