WCBA, YBI to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University and the Youngstown Business Incubator will host documentary screenings, panel discussions and workshops Nov. 15 through 18.
The schedule kicks off at 8 a.m. at the YBI with “How to be More Effective with Digital Information,” an hourlong seminar covering tech tools that entrepreneurs can use to improve their business. In the evening, the YBI hosts an introductory “Business Model Basics” course from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
At Williamson Hall, a free screening of “Generation Startup,” a documentary released earlier this year that follows entrepreneurs working to start companies in Detroit, begins at 2 p.m.
Two panels will be held Nov. 16 in the Williamson Hall Conference Center. The first, “Women in Entrepreneurship” begins at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed by “Technology in Entrepreneurship” at 3 p.m.
Later, the Youngstown Business Incubator will host “3-D Printing 101” in classroom 2201 at 5:30 p.m. The free class covers the history and future of 3-D printing, as well as giving participants an opportunity to design and print their own parts. To register, email Rich Wetzel at [email protected].
On Nov. 17, YBI portfolio company DittoTalk will provide a hands-on demonstration of their messaging and presentation program from noon to 1 p.m. at the YBI office. From 2 to 4:30 p.m., Williamson Hall will play host to the Small Business Resource Alliance Seminar, covering everything from idea creation to pitching to investors to securing loans. The day concludes with a discussion on social entrepreneurship led by YBI’s Gianna Centofanti from 5:30 to 6:30 at the YBI office.
Concluding Global Entrepreneurship Week, YSU students will take part in “JA in a Day,” talking to area fourth-grade students about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness on Nov. 18.
