Racino VLT Play Rebounds in December
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Play on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course rebounded in December after falling the month before.
The racino is operated by Penn National Gaming inc. in Wyomissing, Pa. It opened in September 2014.
The monthly VLT results, posted Monday at the Ohio Lottery Commission’s website, showed bettors wagered $82.26 million on the video slot machines in December, up from $80.84 million in November. Wagers last month were also up from $77.10 million in December 2015.
Bettors pocketed more in December than they did the month before and a year earlier. Credits won last month totaled $73.24 million, compared with $71.98 million in November and $68.77 million in December 2014.
Net win — credits played minus credits won and promotional credits – totaled $8.01 million in December, up from $7.77 million in November and from just under $7.80 million in December 2015.
Penn National received $5.30 million as its commission for operating the racino. That was up from $5.14 million from November and from $5.16 million in December 2015.
Statewide, VLT play also increased in December, to $815.36 million, from $772.92 in November. For December 2015, play totaled $799.69 million.
Credits won last month were $728.36 million, compared with $690.09 million the month before and $713.89 million in December 2015.
