HIgh School Girls to Attend ‘Road Not Taken’
WARREN, Ohio — Camille Favre, senior vice president of human resources at Seven Seventeen Credit Union, will be the keynote speaker for The Road Not Taken, a conference for young women to be held April 15 at Kent State University at Trumbull.
Approximately 125 sophomore girls from Trumbull County high schools will participate in the conference, which is designed to encourage young women to explore careers in math, science and technology.
This year marks the 17th anniversary of the program, which is presented by The Trumbull Career & Technical Center and the Kent State University at Trumbull Diversity Council.
During the conference, women will conduct presentations and hands-on activities on their various career topics. Students choose four career topics from a list of 12 they would like to explore during the conference, which will begin with the keynote address at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
Career areas to be presented at the conference include architecture, biotechnology, chemistry, computer forensics, engineering, health care, manufacturing and pharmacy.
