$950K Approved for Mosquito Lake Park Improvements
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A $950,000 improvement project will be coming to Mosquito Lake State Park after the state’s Controlling Board approved the release of funds for projects across the state.
The money, state Sen, Sean O’Brien said in a release, will be used to upgrade campsites and build a new shower and bathroom building at the park.
“Ohio’s state parks are already incredible, but continuing to prioritize them in ways like this will help contribute to the physical, mental, and economic wellbeing of everyone in the Buckeye State for generations,” said O’Brien, D-Bazetta, in a release. “The newly renovated campsites and facilities at those three parks will really enhance the experiences people have when visiting them in the coming years.”
Elsewhere in O’Brien’s district, $350,000 was approved for Geneva State Park and $490,000 for Pymatuning State Park. O’Brien serves on the Ohio Legislative Trails Caucus, a group organized earlier this year to advocate for the development of Ohio’s nonmotorized trails.
“The economic and health benefits of the trails and the many other amenities offered by our state parks are undeniable, so I’m pleased to see the state placing a high priority on their maintenance and improvement,” he said.
