New Boardman Panera Prepares for Opening
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Covelli Enterprises expects to open its new Boardman Panera Bread bakery-café the week of Sept. 17, a company official said Thursday.
The new bakery-café, at 7121 South Ave. near Giant Eagle and Ashley Furniture, is just east of the former Shops at Boardman Park location, which closed Aug. 24. The Shops at Boardman Park Panera, which opened in 1998, was the first in the Mahoning Valley and the first operated by Covelli Enterprises, which has its headquarters in Warren.
Bill Kutlick, broker/owner Kutlick Realty LLC in Boardman, brokered the deal for the new Panera at the Tiffany Square shopping center. At 4,900 square feet, the new café is about 1,000 square feet larger than the previous restaurant.
“This grand opening is a very special one for us,” said Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises. “Our very first Panera Bread was opened in Boardman, so this opening marks 20 years of growing our business in the Valley and across the country.”
Features of the new Boardman Panera will include a drive-thru window, kiosk ordering and rapid pick-up, as well as delivery to surrounding communities within a designated eight-minute delivery radius.
Kutlick also announced several other upcoming openings. The commercial real estate broker leased a new building to Chipotle and Starbucks, both of which are open, on Millennium Boulevard at an outparcel to the Walmart in Bazetta Township. The GetGo chain is preparing to open a recently constructed gas station/café/convenience store at state Routes 422 and 46 in Niles.
Additionally, Gary Lasko of Kutlick Realty leased space at Great East Plaza in the Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles to Plato’s Closet.
