Valor Recovery to Add Inpatient Services

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Valor Recovery Center, which began operating in July, will offer residential treatment services for addiction starting Wednesday.

Since last summer, Valor has offered partial hospitalization programming, outpatient programming and intensive outpatient programming, said Misty Long, executive director. Once the 33-bed residential unit is up and running, the rehabilitative behavioral health center will add medication-assisted treatment and case management services at a date to be determined, she said.

“It’s been going really well,” she said. “We’re really excited to have this opportunity to serve the population and even more excited now that we can offer residential services.”

Valor operates in the former Austintown Ambulatory Health Care Center on state Route 46, which was built and still owned by entities controlled by James Conti Sr., according to a letter announcing the expanded services.

It is housed in the space formerly occupied by Braking Point Recovery Center, which is not affiliated with Valor or Conti. Braking Point closed following raids in October 2017 of its centers here and in Columbus, as well as the Leetonia home of its then-owner and CEO, Ryan Sheridan.

Valor now has a staff of 15 medical and administrative staff including a physician, nurse practitioner, nurses, several master’s-level clinicians and chemical dependency counseling assistants.

“As we get more clients and the need increases, we will bring on additional staff as needed,” Long said.
