YSU to Offer Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Youngstown State University will offer to again help taxpayers through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in its Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance.
Trained YSU business students and professional volunteers will provide income tax preparation at no charge. The program runs Feb. 7 through April 11. The sessions will be in computer labs on the first floor of Williamson Hall on the YSU campus.
The program offers free income tax assistance to taxpayers and evaluates credits and deductions for which they may be eligible. Free electronic filing is also available. VITA volunteers must complete an Internal Revenue Service training course and pass certification tests in income tax return preparation before they can assist taxpayers.
Taxpayers should bring their Social Security card; photo identification card; wage and earnings statements (Form W-2) from all employers; interest, dividend and investment/stock sales statements (Forms 1099); a copy of last year’s tax return if available; and other relevant information about income and expenses.

- Feb. 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Feb. 19, 3:30 to 6 p.m.
- Feb. 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Feb. 28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- March 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- March 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- April 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- April 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
