EGCC to Assist GM Workers Impacted by Layoff
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Eastern Gateway Community College is offering free educational and training opportunities for those impacted by General Motors’ announcement that it will close its Lordstown plant by March 8.
An event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the college on 101 E. Federal St.
GM employees and family members impacted by the layoff, who are interested in receiving more education and training, will have the chance to meet and talk with program directors and admission counselors to learn more.
Short-term and academic programs geared towards growing industries will be offered.
