Austintown Teacher Is ‘Illuminator of the Year’
Healther Wukelich, a mathematics instructional coach for grades 6 through 12 in the Austintown Local Schools, is one of six teachers nationwide to be named as “Illuminator of the Year” by Illuminate Education, a provider of technology systems and tools for educators. Wukelich was recognized for using “student data to create short-cycle and summative assessments, and evaluating results to best support student achievement,” states the announcement of her award. “Sharing assessments and data with administrators and teachers has a powerful impact on our program and instruction decisions,” says Wukelich. “It’s humbling to be acknowledged by my colleagues for this honor.”
