$12M Assisted Living Home to Be Built in Poland
POLAND, Ohio – EDM Management, a local developer and manager of senior care campuses, plans to build an 89-bed assisted living complex just east of Clingan Road along U.S. Route 224, company officials say.
Work on the new center, named the Inn at Poland Way, should begin within the next 30 days, reports Diane Reese, vice president of EDM.
“The investment is approximately $12 million, and we’ll have at capacity about 50 full-time equivalent employees,” she said Tuesday.
When finished, the 76,000-square-foot assisted living center will consist of 89 units – 64 of which are traditional assisted living units and 24 reserved for those requiring memory care, Reese said.
“We just see a very strong need in this area for assisted living with memory care units and advancing dementia units,” Reese said.
The new building will have a “state-of-the art” design dedicated to serving the elderly population in this part of Mahoning County, she added.
Strollo Architects Inc., Youngstown, is the lead architect on the project, while A.P. O’Horo Inc. is the general contractor.
EDM, based in Boardman, operates several nursing homes and assisted living centers including the Inn at Christine Valley in Youngstown, the Inn at Ironwood in Canfield, Briarfield Manor in Austintown, Briarfield at Ashley Circle, Austintown, and the Inn and Villas at Glenellen in Boardman. The company employs about 500 people.
