Joe Maxx Coffee Expands to Cornersburg
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Joe Maxx Coffee Co., which has enjoyed four “strong years” in business downtown, is expanding to a second location on Canfield Road in the city’s Cornersburg district.
Michael Avey, owner of Joe Maxx, says he recently purchased the Jo For The Road coffee shop there and will begin marketing next month under the Joe Maxx brand.
“It will have the same offerings as downtown,” Avey said, serving a variety of coffees, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods. The difference is that the new operation is strictly a drive-up service, so there’s no seating capacity available as there is at the downtown shop.
“I feel really good about the location,” Avey says of the Cornersburg site, which fronts the Laser Wash along Canfield Road. “I think between the downtown location and social marketing, it’s a matter of getting customers in and winning them over.”
It’s a strategy that has worked thus far at Joe Maxx’s downtown location on the ground floor of the Realty Towers building, Avey says.
“We’ve just completed our fourth year, and we’ve experienced double-digit growth every year,” he reports. “It’s all about getting the word out.”
