Armstrong

Participants in the event can run, walk or bike in any location for any distance between May 20 and May 30 while still supporting food banks, which will get the full $20 registration fee.

All participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Those who sign up before May 17 will get their medals before the race period begins.

Registration will be open through May 30. More information and sign-ups are available here.

Diva Donations

NORTH LIMA, Ohio – Diva Donations will host a drive-thru prom photo event 1 to 3 p.m. May 16.

The store, 11836 South Ave. in North Lima, is inviting all area high school students to come dressed as they would for prom.

Participants will be photographed one a time in an outdoor studio set up by photographers from LookingLens Photography.

All pictures will be emailed to the participants.

Monetary donations, as well as donated dresses, will be accepted. Masks and angels made by Crafting for a Cause Youngstown will be available for purchase.

Joy Cone

HERMITAGE, Pa. – With more Americans at home than ever, Joy Cone is encouraging families to treat themselves to some sweet treats.

“There are so many stresses on parents and children right now with COVID-19,” says David George, president and CEO of Joy Cone. “We are learning a new way of life. When I think about our products, it takes me back to my childhood, a time with no real worries. I am hoping when families pause to have an ice cone, they’ll have similar memories, but also look forward to better days ahead, knowing we will get through this together.”

With more than a century of business, Joy Cone offers a wide range of ice cream cones, from traditional sugar and waffle cones to colored cups, chocolate-dipped cones and waffle bowls. The company offers easy-to-make recipes on its YouTube channel and social media pages.

“The entire family can spark joy by making recipes with cones. How does an Ice Cream Brownie Cone sound? Or how about Ice Cream Cupcake Cones?” George says. “You may even inspire the kids to come up with a new recipe for everyone.”
