Gateways Opens Adult Day Program July 29
BOARDMAN, Ohio — On July 29, Gateways to Better Living Inc. will celebrate the grand opening of The Village of Gateways at 1275 Tiffany South.
The 18,000-square-foot adult day program features a wide range of interactive rooms and gathering spaces to stimulate personal growth through self-exploration and community membership, according to a company release.
Amenities include a sensory place, theatre, computer lab, indoor garden, gaming center, a ‘relax and enjoy’ room, therapy and family meeting area, an indoor atrium for coffee and lunch, licensed practical nurse on-site and large outdoor patio and green space.
“The natural beauty of this facility [The Village] and our cosmetic changes breed positivity and inclusion and is unlike any other adult day program available here in the Mahoning Valley,” says Gail Riess, executive director of Gateways. “We want families to be confident knowing that when their loved ones come to The Village by Gateways, they’re safe while receiving the highest quality programming and support services to live a happier and more fulfilling life.”
On-site activities to be offered at The Village by Gateways include yoga and art instruction, gardening, visual art and dance, creative writing, sewing, jewelry making, outdoor games and more.
A “significant investment and months of construction” by the nonprofit provider of support programs and residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities went into converting the space, according to the release. It’s located in the former Moonraker Restaurant located behind Tiffany Crossings Plaza.
The grand opening is scheduled for 2 p.m. July 29 followed by an open house through 7 p.m. Gateways staff and members of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will be on hand. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, visitors are required to wear masks or face coverings at all times, maintain six feet of distance from each other and stay in small groups of no more than eight individuals.
