Birdfish, Movable Feast Host Fundraiser to Support Officer’s Family

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Birdfish Brewing Co. and A Movable Feast food truck will host a fundraiser Saturday at the Columbiana brewery to raise money for Youngstown police officer Matt Hassey and his children. 

Hassey’s wife, Janey, died of stomach cancer last week, leaving Matt to care for the couple’s two young children. All sales and tips at the food truck Saturday will be donated to the Hassey family. A GoFundMe page, which can be found HERE, has also been set up.

“Our food truck business plan was designed to give back to our communities,” said A Movable Feast’s Shawn Sweeney. “We hope to make Saturday an epic event so we can make a generous donation to Matt and his children and show them how much their family is loved.”

A Movable Feast is based in Akron, but regularly travels to the Mahoning Valley. So far this year, the food truck, which offers eclectic American food, has donated 400 meals to nursing staff at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, 370 lunches to students and families of Akron Public Schools and many meals to local fire and police stations.
