WRTA Holiday Campaign Looks to ‘Light up the Valley’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Western Reserve Transit Authority will not roll out its Holiday Bus this year.
Instead, WRTA is presenting its Holiday Lights campaign by spotlighting Mahoning Valley nonprofits on the sides of its buses, according to a press release.
“All year long, WRTA Gives The Valley a Lift,” said Executive Director Dean Harris. “But there are many other organizations in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties who ‘Light Up The Valley’ 365 days a year by helping those in need. For this holiday season, we wanted to turn the spotlight on those organizations. The Holiday Lights campaign is our way of honoring them and encouraging everyone to support their efforts.”
Starting Thanksgiving week, signs highlighting nonprofits will be displayed on the sides of selected WRTA buses serving Trumbull and Mahoning Counties. Information about the featured organizations will also be on the WRTA website and on social media, with links to the organizations’ donations pages. Selected organizations will also receive a framed copy of their bus sign.
To nominate a nonprofit for the Holiday Lights campaign, residents can go to WRTAOnline.com/holidaylights and complete the nomination form. Organizations selected for the campaign will be notified prior to Thanksgiving.
