A Ramen Noodle History Lesson
WARREN, Ohio — Nate Barker is the owner and chef of a brand new restaurant coming soon to Warren’s Courthouse Square. The new concept is called Noodlefun and the staple menu item is traditional Japanese ramen noodle bowls.
Although he’s never been to Japan, Barker says he has done his research and has been soaking up knowledge on Japanese cuisine and culture wherever he can.
“I’ve immersed myself in the culture through all different types of mediums, talking with people who have been there, talking with people who have had ramen shops in the past,” Barker says.
In today’s ‘3 Minutes With’ video, Chef Barker lets us in on the history of ramen noodles and how the dish is enjoyed in Japan today.
