A Special Delivery for Amazon-Loving Child
DORSET, Ohio – Oaklee Thome, a 4-year-old girl from Dorset, in Ashtabula County, received a special at-home delivery from local Amazon drivers Tuesday morning (Oct. 11) as part of a giveaway program from Amazon for kids who love their delivery drivers.
Oaklee received custom-made Amazon driver uniform costumes for both her and her pet beagle, Gander, as well other Halloween goodies. Nominated by her mom, Oaklee was one of three children across the country to win the giveaway.
This giveaway program celebrates the more than 275,000 drivers across Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program and the hundreds of thousands of Amazon Flex drivers around the world. Amazon delivers more than 10 million packages daily.
“This was such an incredible experience for Oaklee,” said Taylor Thome, Oaklee’s mother. “She loves Amazon and her delivery drivers so much, and to see the look on her face when the costumes and goodies arrived was priceless. She especially loved that our Beagle, Gander, got a matching Amazon driver uniform. Today’s a day I know she’ll always remember.”
Dante Sanfilippo was the Amazon driver who made the delivery to Oaklee. He works for Howlett Logistics, a delivery service partner company owned by Stacy Howlett of the Youngstown area. Howlett is also co-owner of the Coaches Burger Bar restaurant chain.
