Federal Official Celebrates with UAW 1112
WARREN, Ohio – As part of the Good Jobs Summer Tour, acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su visited UAW 1112 members to celebrate the contract between union workers and the Ultium Cells electric vehicle battery plant.
The local agreement builds on the successes of the national contract that Ultium workers joined as a major win of the Stand Up Strike.
“We’ve seen unions like the UAW winning terms in contracts that also were thought impossible even just a few years ago,” Su says. “It happens because of workers standing in solidarity with each other because of strong unions, but it also happens because leadership matters.”
