Advanced Turf Solutions Purchases Conison Tool & Die Property

BOARDMAN, Ohio — The Conison Tool & Die Inc. property at 8100 Southern Blvd. was purchased last week by an Indiana-based company.

ATS Youngstown Investments LLC, based in Fishers, Ind., closed on the purchase of the property from former owners Edward and Michele Straub on Sept. 13. The sale price was $850,000, according to the Mahoning County Auditor website.

Edward Straub owned Conison, a tool and die manufacturing shop that was incorporated in 1992. As of this posting, The Business Journal was unable to reach anyone at Conison by phone. According to the D&B Business Director, machine shop employs 9.the

Documents from the county auditor list ATS Youngstown Investments at 12955 Ford Drive in Fishers, Ind., which is the corporate address of Advanced Turf Solutions. As of this posting, requests for comment from Advanced Turf have not been returned.

The Southern Boulevardproperty includes an office building and storage warehouse. The buildings sit on about 4.5 acres of land.

Advanced Turf Solutions operates five locations in Ohio, including one locally at 603 N. Meridian Road. It also has locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Virginia.

Since 2001, Advanced Turf Solutions has been a green industry distributor offering turf and ornamental fertilizer, chemicals, grass seed, sports field products, ice melt and accessories, according to the company website. The company primarily serves the golf, lawn care, landscape and athletic field industries, with clients in Kansas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and North and South Carolina.
