Airport to Announce Daily Service at Press Event
VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Officials at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport will officially announce the launch of daily service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport Tuesday morning. Officeholders and community dignitaries are expected to join airport officials for the private event.
Aerodynamics Inc. of Atlanta will offer the daily round-trip flights under a new airline name to be announced, according to apress release from the airport. The flights will be in addition to the flights offered by Allegiant Air to various leisure destinations since 2010.
The service will mark the first time since 2002 that the airport in Vienna Township has offered regularly scheduled daily service, said Dan Dickten, director of aviation.
The service to Chicago will provide travelers with connections to more than 130 destinations on other network carriers, including American, Delta, United and Jet Blue. Travelers will be able to book their entire trip through most major travel websites, providing access to a seamless reservation system, ticket sales and baggage handling for connecting flights,
“Flying to Chicago from the Youngstown-Warren-Sharon region saves time, involves less stress and helps to reinvest in the community,” Dickten said. “This daily service is long awaited and is positive news for the community and the region.”
The service will begin with 10 weekly flights – one to two daily – and could expand to three daily round-trip flights depending on demand. Ticket sales are expected to begin in early April.
