Akron Children’s Named to Forbes’ List of Best-in-State Employers

AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital has been named to the Forbes list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2024.

The award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

The companies recognized by Forbes were identified in an independent survey from a sample of over 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors.

Approximately 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered, a news release states. The consideration of data from three years allowed differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer’s final score was determined on a state-by-state basis and was built upon two types of employee evaluations:

  • Personal evaluations: Employees’ willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family.

  • Public evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry.

“Akron Children’s is honored to be included on Forbes’ list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2024,” said Rhonda Larimore, chief human resources officer for Akron Children’s. “This award, voted on by current and former employees, is a testament to our culture as an innovative, inclusive workplace that supports staff in their professional and personal lives.”
