Akron Children’s Taps Nash as VP, Supply Chain

AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s has named Tom Nash vice president of supply chain.

In this newly created role, Nash will develop, recommend, implement and manage Akron Children’s supply chain operations, working to ensure clinicians have the highest quality materials at the optimum time.

Effective supply chain management is crucial to providing high-quality, cost-effective care, and his significant expertise and experience in this area will be a real asset to Akron Children’s,” says Chris Gessner, Akron Children’s president and CEO.

Tom has more than 15 years of progressive executive experience in health care, specific to supply chain management. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, he served as the corporate vice president of supply management and chief procurement officer at the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, he held executive leadership positions at Premier Health Partners and Ministry Health Care. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in production operations and supply chain from Arizona State University and his Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University.

As vice president of Akron Children’s supply chain, Nash will leverage the buying power of the organization in categories of spend that are common across all operations, employ state-of-the-art supply chain practices and technologies, implement standardization and consistent policies across the organization, and develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
