Alta Care Group Awarded $40K from Circle of Friends
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Alta Care Group was recently awarded $40,000 from the Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation to support its Camp Challenge and Classroom Connections programs.
Camp Challenge is an intensive experiential group counseling program designed to use behavior modification and cognitive behavioral therapy in group settings to improve behaviors. The program is designed for children age 6 to 12.
The Classroom Connections program provides on-site behavioral health services in schools throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties. The services are designed to promote improved academic performance by addressing nonacademic barriers that interfere with learning. These services also help teaching staff with developing strategies that promote success.
“We are incredibly grateful and honored to receive this gift from Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation,” said Joe Shorokey, chief executive officer of Alta Care Group. “Thanks to their generosity, we’ll be able to invest in two of our growing programs that are benefitting children and families throughout the Mahoning Valley.”
