Alta Head Start Looks to Fill More Than 70 Positions

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Alta Head Start, which recently expanded into Trumbull County, is looking for education professionals to help fill more than 70 positions.

Alta will host two hiring events, both from 3 to 7 p.m. The first event will take place Aug. 21 at the Campus of Care, 1960 E. County Line Road, Building 6, Mineral Ridge. The second event is scheduled for Aug. 26 at Alta Care Group, 3790 E. Market St., Warren.

Job seekers are encouraged – but not required – to bring resumes. Refreshments will be provided, and giveaways will be available.

“We’re entering a new era here at Alta Head Start and are seeking education professionals that can help us fulfill our mission of improving the quality of life for children ages birth to 5 years old and give them a Head Start in education as we expand our services throughout Trumbull County,” Joe Shorokey, chief executive officer of Alta Care Group, said in a news release.

Alta Care Group is now operating most Head Start locations in Trumbull County that were operated by the Trumbull Community Action Program. The Office of Head Start recently named Alta as the agency to provide services within the county.

For nearly a decade, Alta has provided Head Start and Early Head Start services at its 11 locations in Mahoning County, serving 760 children and their families each year. Alta now operates more than 20 locations, serving more than 1,100 children each year.
