America’s Sweethearts Concert Will Be a Homecoming for Cortland Native

WARREN, Ohio – America’s Sweethearts, featuring Cortland native Shaina Vencel, will come to Packard Music Hall on Thursday for a 7 p.m. show.

The group recreates the look and sounds of 1930s all-girl vocal harmony groups such as The Andrews Sisters. The show is part of the Warren Civic Music Association’s annual concert season. Tickets are $40 and available in advance at packardmusichall.com.

Vencel is a graduate of Lakeview High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Kent State University. She has an extensive resume as a singer and actor in regional and New York professional theater and has also performed on cruise ships and at Hong Kong Disneyland.

She lives in the New York City area with her husband, Marc, and said she is delighted to return to the Mahoning Valley where her parents, Mary Ellen and Mark Vencel, still live.

The other members of America’s Sweethearts are Carly Kincannon of Indianapolis and Amanda Lea LaVergne of New York.

America’s Sweethearts was formed in 2016 and has toured the United States. The group is backed by a five-piece band. The show will include a 15-minute intermission. The America’s Sweethearts music CD will be sold in the lobby.
