National Center for Urban Solutions Success Story

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– Bernard Jones, after being incarcerated for more than 26 years, became a success story for the the National Center for Urban Solutions.

NCUS set him up to receive training, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and mechanical safety certifications, through Eastern Gateway Community College and to attend the 80-hour boot camp through the WorkAdvance program.

“It’s not just about the education. It’s just not about the training aspect,” Jones says of the NCUS program. “It’s the follow-up that reminds you of all the things that you learned and the importance of it.”
