Animal Charity of Ohio Purchases Building in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Animal Charity of Ohio is getting new space to continue its mission of saving abused, abandoned and neglected animals in Mahoning County.
To help deal with a rise in the number of animals that needed to be rescued, the organization previously purchased storage units, removed furniture and rearranged its existing building.
“However, even with these changes, the substantial increase in services have led us to the point where it was clear if we were to continue to provide services for the abused, abandoned and neglected animals in Mahoning County, we would need a bigger building in order to do so,” the organization said in a news release.
The organization purchased an empty building at 8469 Southern Boulevard for $650,000 on Dec. 8. It didn’t raise enough money to cover the cost of the building at the time of purchase and decided to take out a loan. The organization is seeking donations to help pay for the building and expenditures. For donation information, call Jane MacMurchy, operations director, at 330 519 1328.
