Anita Davis Reflects on Running for City Council

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Anita Davis ran for City Council after she retired from the Youngstown Police Department. She began her first term in 2016.

In an interview with reporter George Nelson, Davis explains what led her to run for City Council rather than enjoy retirement.

“We have a total budget of $220 million. As soon as I found out the city’s budget way back when, I said, ‘We have that kind of money and the city is looking like this?'” Davis said. “Why is it looking so bad?”
