April New-Business Filings Total 12,385
COLUMBUS, Ohio – April saw the fourth-highest number of new-business filings in Ohio history as 12,385 entities filed to do business in the state, according to the secretary of state’s office.
The number is less than the record 13,747 filings in March, 12,874 in April 2018 and 12,827 in March 2017.
“2019 alone can now claim two of the four best months in state history for new business filings,” said Secretary of State Frank LaRose in a statement. “More and more, entrepreneurs are looking to Ohio as a place to start their business and we stand ready to help make it happen.”
Year-to-date, 48,345 businesses have filed to do business in Ohio.
