Aqua Pazzo to Temporarily Close After 2 Staff Get COVID-19

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Aqua Pazzo will temporarily close to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among its staff after two employees tested positive over the weekend.

In an email sent to customers Monday afternoon, the Boardman restaurant said safety measures have been its top concern since restaurants were allowed to reopen.

“We’ve gone above and beyond with our COVID-19 safety protocols, investing extensively into measures like plexiglass dividers, expanded outdoor seating and the installation of air purification probes in our indoor HVAC systems,” the email said. “At the end of the day, the safety of our guests and employees is always our first concern, our number one priority, our commitment to you.”

The date of the reopening will be announced later, the email continued.

During the shutdown, Aqua Pazzo installed a new outdoor dining area, with a capacity of 100, that vice president of brands Johnny Court described as “comfortable, approachable and ethereal.”

“We wanted the design to feel … more coastal than Midwestern,” Coury said at the time. “Escapism has been at the root of the design principles and it seems we’ve succeeded in that quest. … We all need a little escape from the harsh realities of 2020.”
