ARC Awards $456,800 to Road Project in Lowellville

LOWELLVILLE, Ohio – The Appalachian Regional Commissione has approved $456,800 for Lowellville to continue work on extending McGaffney Road.

The project is expected to create at least 20 full-time jobs and spur private investment at the site on the western side of the Mahoning River in Lowellville.

“When we invest in infrastructure that improves access to business districts like the industrial park in Lowellville, it helps bring jobs to the community,” said U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in a statement announcing the award. “I’m excited to see this investment help Lowellville’s economy grow.”

The village of Lowellville will contribute $48,794 to the project, bringing the total funding to $505,594.
