YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Metropolitan Statistical Area will see 3.6% employment growth between 2020 and 2030, according to a new tool from Ohio Means Jobs.
The Occupational Employment Projections Dashboard allows users to see top occupations by growth, decline and projected job openings through 2030.
For the Youngstown Metropolitan Statistical Area, food preparation is projected to see more than 2,000 additional jobs between 2020 and 2030, while more than 1,000 additional jobs are expected in health care support.
The dashboard shows 160,838 annual employment in 2020 for the Youngstown MSA and 166,561 projected for 2030.
In the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area, a 9.4% employment increase is projected. Licking County, near Columbus, is where Intel is building a new chip factory.
An increase of 4.2% is projected for Akron, and a 4.5% increase is projected for Cleveland.
