YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – H.D. Davis CPAs and White Glove Payroll, both located in Liberty Township, are partnering with The Business Journal to highlight family-owned businesses that are making an impact in the Mahoning Valley.
The monthly series will feature profiles of family-owned businesses, which will appear in print, online and video beginning with this edition.
“Family business is the most important aspect of our local economy. We are proud to partner with The Business Journal to highlight the great family-owned businesses right here in our Valley,” says Tim Petrey, managing partner at H.D. Davis CPA’s and founder of White Glove Payroll.
“We need to continue to tell stories of success in the Valley. It’s important that people on the outside understand the opportunity here. If we want to be able to take advantage of all of the amazing opportunities in front of us we need more people to come back to the Valley to be a part of it,” Petrey says.
The first story is a profile of Myers Equipment in Canfield. The business was started by Paul Myers in 1937 as an REO Truck dealership that today sells and services school and transit buses, ambulances, as well as commercial and conversion vans and truck equipment.
Myers Equipment is now operated by the fourth generation with six members of the family currently employed there.
“I’ve seen the Myers family’s contributions to this community for many years,” Petrey says. “We are lucky to have this family that has continued to stay active in supporting our community through multiple generations of ownership. We’re grateful to have had an opportunity to highlight a great business and a great family here in our Valley.”
